The In the Bayou Collection is deeply personal to me because it was inspired by one of the first Disney princesses who truly looked like me. When The Princess and the Frog was released, I had just begun my journey as a kindergarten teacher. I remember seeing the excitement on my students' faces—especially the little girls who finally saw themselves represented in a princess they could admire. It was a beautiful reminder that representation matters and that everyone deserves to see themselves reflected in the stories they love.
As the years passed, that inspiration stayed with me.
